Inauguration of Host Community Support Projects in Dadaab
Today, Monday 18 August 2014, men, women and children from the Maleyley community gathered near the projects sites in Maleyley 1 and 2 villages, 25 kilometers east of Dadaab town. They celebrated and witnessed the inauguration of newly equipped two boreholes and a health center.
In Dadaab where the community has been hosting the world biggest refugee population for more than 20 years, these projects are something that the population needed critically. More than 3,000 people will benefit from these projects.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by UNHCR's Head of Operations in Dadaab, Mr. Ahmed Warsame, Member of Parliament, Hon. (Dr) Mohamed D. Duale, Representatives from County Assembly, Deputy County Commissioner office, the beneficiary host community and media.
Representatives of the beneficiary community and the Kenyan Governmental officials appreciated UNHCR and the donors for its continues support to the host community in Dadaa
